The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, through its Search and Rescue Section and Air Wing Section, successfully rescued seven individuals of Asian nationality who had lost their way in Wadi Sheha. The operation was prompted by a distress call reporting one of the individuals experiencing stress, fatigue, and subsequent loss of consciousness.
Major Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al-Saman, Head of the Search and Rescue Section, detailed the response to the incident, which began with a report received by Ras Al Khaimah Police Operations regarding the stranded individuals in Wadi Sheha. A team was swiftly dispatched to the reported location, where the individuals were discovered deep within the rugged terrain of the valley.
Navigating the challenging landscape, Ras Al Khaimah Police search and rescue personnel reached the stranded individuals, with one requiring transportation on a stretcher due to fainting and loss of consciousness. Additionally, a helicopter was utilized to airlift the injured individual to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, while the others received initial aid before being escorted back to their vehicles at the valley entrance.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police urged community members to exercise caution when venturing into mountainous and valley areas, emphasizing the importance of informing authorities before embarking on recreational trips. This proactive measure helps authorities swiftly locate individuals in the event of emergencies, ensuring their safety. Community members were also reminded to utilize the emergency hotline (999) for urgent situations and the non-emergency line (901) for assistance in non-critical matters.
