Ras Al Khaimah Police Prepares to Launch a Smart Examination System for Driver Testing

His Excellency Colonel Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, announced that Ras Al Khaimah Police, through the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, is preparing to introduce a smart examination system for individuals applying for a driving license. This innovative system will utilize a self-inspection vehicle that conducts the testing process and evaluates the examiner's performance according to precise traffic standards approved by the Traffic, Patrols, Vehicles, and Drivers Licensing Sector at the Ministry of Interior, with the goal of enhancing road safety and security.

Colonel Saqr Al Qasimi explained that the smart self-examination system is designed to assess the performance of drivers during the (internal examination) stage based on traffic examination standards set by the Ministry of Interior. This system aims to reduce errors, save time and effort, and increase customer satisfaction by providing transparent and accurate examination results. The system improves the driving test experience by fully automating the evaluation process without the need for examiner intervention. Examiners will instead focus on supervising and organizing the test.

The mechanism of the test has also been enhanced, now following a sequential process that begins with receiving the vehicle and proceeds through various test stages until reaching the stop and completion stage, all aligned with the transmission system of the vehicle.

His Excellency Colonel Ibrahim Rashid bin Shukr, Deputy Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, highlighted that the smart self-examination system significantly enhances the evaluation of driver performance in an automated and timely manner. During the test, the self-inspection vehicle evaluates the driver’s performance and determines whether they pass or fail. The system provides immediate feedback on strengths and areas for improvement, which are detailed in the test certificate.

This process ensures accurate and reliable results for practical and applied driving tests, satisfying customers and achieving the level of accuracy, efficiency, and transparency that the Ministry of Interior aspires to. This initiative aligns with the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the quality of life, ensuring public security, and increasing societal happiness.
