Ras Al Khaimah Police Reduce Procedures for Issuing Burial Permits by 70%

Believing that the family is the foundation of society, and driven by a strong sense of responsibility to support individuals during their most sensitive and challenging times, continuous efforts and initiatives have been undertaken to reduce burdens on the society. Accordingly, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police announced the launch of a new phase aimed at facilitating and digitizing services through “By Your Side” package, which brings together several joint government services through a unified portal related to burial permit issuance, thereby simplifying all procedures and transactions associated with death and easing the burden on bereaved families.

H.E. Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, affirmed that “By Your Side” package, which aims to facilitate procedures for bereaved families, reflects Ras Al Khaimah Government’s strong commitment to placing people at the top of its priorities, by focusing on delivering more efficient, effective, and higher quality services within the second phase of the Government's Zero Bureaucracy Program.

His Excellency stated that this step will contribute to reducing unnecessary procedures in issuing burial permits by 70%, eliminating 50% of the required documents, and reducing in-person visits to service centers to zero. He noted that “By Your Side” package represents a qualitative shift in government service zeroing and reflects the firmly established values of the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police and its partners in supporting UAE society, strengthening its resilience, and providing continuous support at all times.

His Excellency, the Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, indicated that the package represents a global model for government integration through a shared vision based on partnership in simplifying procedures, in line with the Emirate’s direction of placing people at the heart of service design, policies, and initiatives.

This humanitarian initiative is part of the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police’s ongoing efforts to implement projects and initiatives, streamline procedures, and build on the outcomes of the Customer Councils convened last year. It also seeks to facilitate access to shared services through an innovative digital system that reduces time and effort by allowing a unified government service employee to complete all transactions through full digital connectivity among relevant entities on behalf of bereaved families, for the issuance of burial permits and to ease the burden of mobility during challenging emotional and psychological times.

The unified digital platform brings together all entities involved in issuing burial permits, including Medical and Health institutions, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, and Comprehensive Police Stations. Each entity receives automatic notifications immediately upon the reporting of a death, supporting the provision of proactive services that allow bereaved families more time to attend to humanitarian and social matters in such sensitive and challenging situations.
