From the Applied Technology Schools to Al Kharan Roundabout Speed Limit on Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Street Reduced to 80 km/h

Aiming to enhance road safety, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police announced a reduction in the speed limit on Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Road (E18), extending from the Applied Technology Schools to Al Kharan Roundabout, to 80 km/h instead of 100 km/h. Accordingly, the radar enforcement speed will be set at 101 km/h, starting from the beginning of next month.

H.E. Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, explained that this decision aligns with the General Command’s efforts to achieve the objectives of the Ministry of Interior, aimed at making roads safer and enhancing secure transportation and traffic safety. The measure also seeks to reduce traffic accidents, particularly as this vital road passes through densely populated residential and commercial areas and is heavily used by a large number of vehicles, given its status as one of the main roads linking the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah with other emirates and cities across the country.

H.E. Brigadier Al Naqbi urged drivers to comply with the newly approved speed limits on the aforementioned road, in order to contribute to achieving the desired objectives and to avoid traffic violations and associated fines. He emphasized the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing public safety, including drivers and road users, as the foremost and most important consideration in all decisions taken.
