The Media and Public Relations Department of the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command has released the July issue of Al Ain Al Sahira magazine, dedicated to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The issue forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of this serious issue and protect future generations from its many dangers.
The cover of Issue 357 features the headline: “A Scourge Threatening Community Security and Family Stability… Celebrating the International Day Against Drug Abuse Reflects the UAE’s Efforts in Combating It.” The feature article highlights the global observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June each year, which is also marked in the UAE. It outlines the country’s commitment to supporting national and international efforts to combat drug trafficking, smuggling, and abuse, while promoting prevention and community solidarity to reduce the spread of this scourge and its harmful effects on individuals and society.
Under the title “A Safe Homeland… and an Aware Society,” the editorial discusses the UAE’s observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, emphasizing that the country has established itself as an international model through its successful awareness campaigns and comprehensive efforts to combat this transnational scourge.
In the “Security Perspective” column, His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, contributed an article titled “Combating Drugs in the UAE: Vision and Law Enforcement.” In the article, he highlighted that the UAE’s approach to combating drugs represents a global model that balances awareness with law enforcement, based on the belief that protecting the human mind is a cornerstone of sustainable development.
In addition to news from the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, the July issue features a diverse collection of articles, reports, studies, and police and security research. Most of the content focuses on drugs, their security and behavioural risks, and the importance of the family’s role in protecting and educating children about drug abuse. The issue also includes topics on protecting facilities from cyber phishing, the nature and characteristics of security media, and the impact of bureaucracy on administrative efficiency, alongside the magazine’s regular sections, including Distinguished Personalities, Places and Times, Poetic Reflections, A Window on the Past, Sports, Community News, and other recurring features.
