Ras Al Khaimah Police Concludes 2024 Summer Friends of the Police Program

His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, emphasized the importance of investing in future generations to achieve development and sustainability. He highlighted the necessity of effective mental and physical preparation and enhancing security awareness among the youth to build a conscious generation that contributes to societal progress. This includes training them to utilize their time effectively and providing them with essential skills and experiences to develop their capabilities, foster loyalty to the homeland, and enhance their values of defending and protecting its security and stability. By imparting necessary knowledge in security and safety, they are better equipped to handle emergencies and crises.

These remarks were made during His Excellency’s attendance at the graduation ceremony of the "Police Friends Summer Program" at the Zayed Educational Complex - Awafi. The program, launched by the Media and Public Relations Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police in cooperation with the Sports Activities Section, the Community Protection and Prevention Department, and the Emirates Schools Establishment, operates under the umbrella of the Freijna School - Al Qaydh Forum. It coincides with the summer vacation of school students, aiming to enhance the quality of security life and bring happiness to community members, in line with the Ministry of Interior’s strategy.

The 2024 session of the program attracted 134 students aged between 9 and 15 years for a period of four weeks. The students were divided into three groups according to their age and underwent a series of rehabilitation, awareness, psychological, and physical training programs. They acquired skills in swimming, football, taekwondo, and self-defense, and participated in various field trips and tours to different entities to enrich their security and community awareness. Additionally, they attended awareness lectures and workshops.

His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief praised the Police Friends Program for its role in shaping future leaders, instilling values of discipline, refining physical abilities and skills, and guiding ethical behavior according to national principles and police values. He noted that Police Friends serve as ambassadors for the police and the nation, spreading security awareness within their families and schools, and contributing to the nation's security and stability.

He also announced plans to expand the program in the coming years to include female students and introduce military training aspects, allowing more students to benefit from the summer program.

The graduation ceremony featured performances by the Ras Al Khaimah Police Music Band, a documentary on the program’s activities since its inception, and a Taekwondo performance by the students. Collaborators, participants, trainers, supervisors, and coordinators were honored for their contributions to the program's success. The Police Friends students were also recognized, with wishes for their continued success and prosperity as they become valuable assets to the homeland.
