Under the patronage of His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, the 2025 Ras Al Khaimah Police Ramadan Football Tournament was officially launched last night. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by His Excellency Brigadier Jamal Ahmed Al Tair, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, and attended by Directors-General, department heads, numerous police officers, staff members, and community spectators.

Running from March 10 to March 27, the tournament features 18 teams from various police departments, divided into four groups. Matches are being held on the newly renovated football pitch at the Ras Al Khaimah Police Officers Club, which now meets the highest professional standards.

Brigadier Al Tair emphasized the General Command's commitment to hosting engaging sports events during the holy month of Ramadan each year. These tournaments aim to foster healthy competition, strengthen camaraderie among police personnel, and promote a spirit of unity, harmony, and mutual respect—especially during the Year of Community.

He also noted the Ministry of Interior’s strong support for the sports sector, recognizing its significant impact on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of officers. This aligns with Ras Al Khaimah Police’s broader strategic goals of promoting excellence and well-rounded development among its personnel.

In the opening matches, the Strategy Department edged out the Community Protection and Prevention Department with a 1-0 win, while the Punitive and Correctional Institution team delivered a strong performance with a 4-0 victory over the RAKZ team.

The tournament is proudly supported by several official sponsors, including Stevin Rock, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones (RAKEZ), and the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, alongside various sub-sponsors offering prizes and giveaways. The event promises a festive Ramadan atmosphere, bringing together the police force and community in the spirit of celebration and unity.
