Prepared by the Media and Public Relations Department Ras Al Khaimah Police recorded zero traffic accidents during the first week of the current academic year. Ras Al Khaimah Police stated that achieving this target reflects the success of the intensive policing efforts and the comprehensive, well-planned strategy developed by the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police for the start of the academic year. The plan included the wide deployment of 103 patrols across the main streets and key areas of the emirate, particularly in front of vital schools, as well as the field presence of specialized officers to oversee the organization of traffic and ensure the desired smooth flow of vehicles on the emirate’s main roads and thoroughfares. The statement further noted that the General Command mobilized all its human and material resources to ensure the highest levels of traffic safety for students during their daily journeys to and from school. These measures, in addition to the extensive deployment of police patrols, included the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to monitor vital roads, detect any traffic congestion, and address it immediately. The Police also commended the cooperation of the public (including parents, drivers, road users, school administrations, and school bus drivers) with its directives aimed at preventing any traffic incidents that could disrupt the smooth start of the new academic year. It further emphasized the importance of ongoing public cooperation with police instructions and guidance aimed at ensuring the safety of students and road users, preventing traffic accidents, and maintaining smooth traffic flow across the emirate’s roads, thereby guaranteeing the safe arrival of all road users. Ras Al Khaimah Police stated that the Traffic and Patrols Department, represented by the Traffic Awareness Branch, and the Media and Public Relations Department conducted educational and awareness lectures for Emirates Transport bus drivers and supervisors at the start of the academic and administrative staff’s return to duty.
