As part of its commitment to promoting humanitarian values and strengthening family cohesion, the Correctional and Punitive Establishment of the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command organized a forum titled "Family: Support and Security." The event was attended by Colonel Thiyab Ali Al Harash, Director of the Establishment, together with several officers and family members of inmates.

Colonel Al Harash stated that the initiative reflects the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command's belief in the vital role of maintaining strong family ties throughout the rehabilitation process. He explained that providing inmates with opportunities to meet their families in a welcoming and supportive environment, within the framework of established legal and regulatory procedures, contributes significantly to their psychological well-being, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into society as productive and responsible individuals.

He added that such gatherings strengthen family relationships by allowing inmates to spend meaningful time with their parents, spouses, and children in a barrier-free environment that encourages direct communication and emotional support. Colonel Al Harash noted that this is the second family forum organized by the institution this year, as part of the UAE's Year of the Family initiatives and in line with the directives of the UAE's wise leadership to reinforce family unity and preserve the nation's enduring social values.

The event, designed and supervised by psychologist Wafaa Al Marzouqi, brought together 28 family members, including relatives who travelled from a neighboring GCC country, to meet with five inmates serving sentences for various offences. The program featured interactive family activities, competitions with prizes for participants, gifts for children, and an exhibition of handicrafts created by female inmates. The gathering concluded with a shared lunch in a warm and supportive family atmosphere.
