The Ras Al Khaimah Police Women’s Team, led by Major Amal Hassan Al Obad, Manager of the Rehabilitation and Training Branch at the Punitive and Correctional Institution, has initiated an educational workshop series titled Psychological Preparation for the National Service. This initiative, aimed at twelfth-grade students, seeks to advance the UAE’s national objectives by promoting unity and strengthening character among young citizens to foster security and stability.

Major Amal Al Obad explained that these workshops were launched to help shape the character of the nation’s youth by embedding positive values of citizenship, positively impacting students’ behavior toward themselves, their families, and their country, and ultimately supporting national stability.

The first workshop was held at Al Jazirah Al Hamra Boys School, in the presence of school principal Mr. Yaqoub Liwad, along with the school’s staff and members of the Ras Al Khaimah Women’s Police Team. Psychologist Wafaa Abdul Rahman Yaqoub, from the Punitive and Correctional Institution, led an educational session, emphasizing the importance and benefits of joining the National Service Program. She discussed the program’s concept, requirements, benefits, and the consequences of not joining, aiming to break down stereotypes and provide practical advice on psychological preparation, including mindset, behavior, and physical habits.

The workshop also covered expected behavior for recruits, detailing how students should approach their time in national service. Following the lecture, students’ questions were addressed, clarifying any concerns and boosting their motivation.

Major Amal Al Obad confirmed that the Psychological Preparation for the National Service Program workshops will continue across all schools in the emirate. The goal is to mentally prepare students for the National Service Program, instilling a strong sense of commitment, and developing their competitive spirit, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing national interests above personal gains, and preparing them for the honor of serving and defending the UAE.
