The Ras Al Khaimah Police recently concluded an intensive training course for police dogs, marking another milestone in enhancing security measures. His Excellency Brigadier Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations in Ras Al Khaimah, alongside Brigadier Mohammed Al Habsi, Director of the Federal K9 Security Inspection Department, presided over the graduation ceremony. Thirteen members from various police leadership positions across the country participated in this significant event.

During the ceremony, the trained police dogs showcased their skills through various performances, demonstrating their proficiency in different fields and specializations. Brigadier Bin Saif emphasized the Ministry of Interior's unwavering support in providing the necessary resources for training and qualifying police dogs. These canines have proven instrumental in executing their assigned tasks, thereby enhancing security and safety by detecting and reducing various types of crimes.

Director General Bin Saif highlighted the course's objective of fostering trust and confidence between the dogs and their trainers while adhering to the highest international standards. The training encompassed a range of disciplines, including detecting criminal activities, search and rescue missions, riot control, and identifying drugs, explosives, and corpses. Moreover, participants were acquainted with handling unprotected dogs, building trust, nutrition, kennel management, and progressive training methodologies, as well as the criteria for selecting both dogs and trainers.

He commended the dedication of the course participants, acknowledging their exemplary commitment throughout the training, encompassing theoretical and practical aspects. The course also featured the rehabilitation and training of police dogs imported from the Netherlands, from initial training stages to evaluation and specialization in various tasks.

This initiative underscores Ras Al Khaimah Police's continuous efforts, supported by the Ministry of Interior, to adopt advanced technology in combating modern crime effectively at both local and international levels. Through such endeavors, they aim to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents.
