The Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, through its Traffic Awareness and Media Branch, has launched the "Safety Begins with a Step" campaign, aimed at motorcycle riders. As part of the initiative, helmets were distributed to individuals who successfully passed their motorcycle driving tests.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, emphasized that this campaign reflects the leadership’s commitment to enhancing road safety awareness among motorcyclists. He highlighted the critical role helmets play in safeguarding riders, serving as a key protective measure against potential accidents.
A dedicated team overseeing the campaign is stationed at the testing center each morning to distribute helmets to new motorcycle license holders. They also actively encourage riders to wear helmets at all times—whether driving or riding as a passenger—stressing the dangers of riding without proper head protection. By promoting helmet use, the initiative aims to reduce injury risks and enhance overall road safety for motorcyclists.
Brigadier Al Naqbi urged all motorcycle riders and their passengers to comply with helmet regulations, not only for their safety but also to avoid penalties and fines associated with non-compliance.
