The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, through its Tourist Police Section, joined forces with its strategic partner, the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, to actively participate in the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition held at the Dubai World Trade Center. Under the theme "Empowering Innovation: Transforming the Travel Sector through Entrepreneurship," the event spanned from May 6 to May 9, 2024.
Among the distinguished visitors was Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Group. During his tour of the Travel Market exhibition, he paid a visit to the Ras Al Khaimah Police stand within the Emirate’s Tourism Development Authority pavilion. There, he engaged with Major Ghanem Jassim Al Suwaidi, Head of the Tourism Police Section, to learn about the section’s efforts, objectives, and strategic initiatives in ensuring security within the tourism sector.
Major Ghanem Al Suwaidi emphasized the significance of launching a dedicated platform at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 to showcase the endeavors of the tourist police in Ras Al Khaimah. This initiative aimed to enlighten exhibition visitors about the roles, responsibilities, and accomplishments of the tourist police in safeguarding tourists and enhancing the overall security landscape in society. Furthermore, it highlighted the section’s role in fostering entrepreneurship and leveraging its resources to bolster the tourism industry.
Participating in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition presented a valuable opportunity for the Ras Al Khaimah Police to contribute to the development and sustainability objectives envisioned by the wise leadership and pursued by the Ministry of Interior. By synergizing efforts, the section aims to spotlight its contributions to development by ensuring the protection of tourists and tourist sites, enhancing awareness of tourist security among visitors and tourists across various locations – from mountainous areas and valleys to archaeological and heritage sites, commercial centers, and markets. Ultimately, this endeavor seeks to preserve national assets and cultivate a safe and inviting tourist environment that enriches the experiences of visitors to the country, Major Ghanem Al Suwaidi said.
