The Al Ain Al Sahera program, organized by the Media and Public Relations Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office and Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Authority, dedicated its latest episode to discussing the newly implemented home electronic vehicle impoundment system. The episode featured Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Salem Bourguiba, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, who provided insights into the decision, which took effect on the 20th of this month.
Lieutenant Colonel Bourguiba explained that the initiative, introduced in partnership with the General Resources Authority, aims to enhance traffic safety and promote adherence to traffic regulations. The system provides a more efficient and controlled method of vehicle impoundment while reducing operational burdens and advancing smart monitoring technologies. Under the new regulations, owners of impounded vehicles are restricted from moving them beyond a 200-meter from the designated impoundment location.
He further elaborated that the system involves installing a smart tracking device on the impounded vehicle to monitor its movements and ensure compliance with the impoundment order. The process begins with notifying the vehicle owner, followed by the installation of the tracking device by an accredited entity, ensuring strict adherence to the regulations.
