To strengthen their strategic partnership in enhancing road safety through modern traffic systems, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, in collaboration with the Public Services Department, announced the integration of the Safe City system with AI-powered smart gates at all entry and exit points across the emirate. This initiative is part of the Safe City Digital System project and the Aber system, aimed at improving traffic management on Ras Al Khaimah’s main roads.

His Excellency Major General Ali bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, explained that this marks the second phase of the project, focused on building the infrastructure for smart security gates to monitor and manage security and traffic across all areas of the emirate.

He further elaborated that 20 smart gates are planned for installation at major road entry and exit points. These gates, connected to the central operations room, are equipped with AI-powered cameras capable of monitoring traffic conditions, analyzing data, and reporting traffic incidents. The gates also feature screens that provide important alerts and educational messages for road users regarding weather and traffic conditions. This initiative aims to create a safer traffic environment, enhance sustainable road mobility, and improve the police force's ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to accidents and emergencies across Ras Al Khaimah.

His Excellency Eng. Khaled Fadl Al Ali, Director General of the Public Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah, praised the partnership, highlighting the establishment of a robust infrastructure for the AI-powered security gates. He emphasized that this project is a critical component of the Ras Al Khaimah Digital City initiative, aimed at supporting technological security infrastructure in line with international best practices. By optimizing resource use and leveraging the partnership between the Public Services Department and Ras Al Khaimah Police, this project ensures the prosperity, development, and sustainability of Ras Al Khaimah. It also strengthens the emirate’s position as a competitive city for tourism and investment by advancing security and safety through the use of cutting-edge technology, ultimately contributing to a higher quality of life.
