The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, through its Traffic and Patrols Department, has launched this campaign to raise awareness regarding the importance of wearing seat belts while driving for all road users.

Colonel Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Bahar, Acting Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, elaborated on the campaign's details. It will run for a duration of two weeks, during which numerous road safety messages will be disseminated through various media platforms, including Ras Al Khaimah Police's official social media channels and websites. These messages aim to underscore that seat belt usage is not merely a precautionary measure; it is a legal requirement in accordance with the Traffic Law. Colonel Dr. Al-Bahar also cautioned that failing to fasten one's seat belt constitutes a traffic violation, carrying a penalty of AED 400 and the addition of 4 traffic points to the driver's record.

Colonel Dr. Al-Bahar highlighted the substantial and positive role that seat belts play in minimizing injuries resulting from potential traffic accidents, thereby increasing the likelihood of surviving such incidents. He appealed to all road users to adhere to traffic laws and regulations, emphasizing the importance of fastening seat belts, whether on local or external roads, in order to safeguard lives and property and to bolster overall security and safety.
